Hamilton’s four year starter on the defensive line and four-star prospect according to Scout.com, Garrett Rand, has announced his commitment.

This is now the second commitment Wisconsin has landed from the state of Arizona for the class of 2016 as Saguaro quarterback Karé Lyles pledged to the Badgers as well last summer.
The 6-3, 275 pound defensive tackle took an official visit to Madison last weekend and it only took a few days after to decide it was the place for him. Rand also held offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Illinois, Louisville, Nebraska, Stanford, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Washington.
Rand has been a main staple with this Hamilton program since he first stepped foot on campus. He holds multiple weight lifting records at the school which includes the fact that he bench presses over 500 pounds. He didn’t however become the prospect at the level that he is for being strong in the weight room. In watching him on Friday nights, there are few better gap pluggers and also players with more burst off the line, in the defensive interior, that this state has seen over the last few years.
