Reaction to Hotshots – So Far, So Good

Arizona Sports News online

By Andrew Bell

The first game is officially over. The Alliance of American Football made its debut over the weekend and with it, the Arizona Hotshots won their inaugural game on Sunday night by a score of 38-22.

The crowd wasn’t large, but it was passionate, and as the saying goes, “Build it and they will come.”

That’s the hope for the newest professional franchise in Arizona. Here is what people had to say about the team after its first game.

There’s still a full season left ahead for the Hotshots. Up next, they head on the road for the first time to take on the Memphis Express, who got shut out 26-0 in their opening game against the Birmingham Iron.

The Express are coached by Mike Singletary. According to the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, the Hotshots have the highest odds (+250) to win this year’s inaugural AAF Championship. Memphis’ odds were listed at (+1000), which is tied for the lowest odds out of the eight team league.

Nonetheless, anything can happen in a league that has so many vast unkowns in its early stages. The only thing that is known is that Arizona’s newest sports franchise is 1-0.
