After having the best year of his career, Patrick Corbin became a hot commodity in the free agent pool this offseason.
Reports have come out that the lefty will sign with the Washington Nationals for six years and, according to Yahoo’s Jeff Passan, the deal is worth $140 million

Corbin went 11-5 with 200 innings pitched, 246 strikeouts and a 3.15 earned run average. He was fifth in Cy Young voting.

The New York Yankees were heavily favored coming in to the is offseason to sign Corbin, who is a New York native. The Bronx Bombers did recently trade for former Seattle Mariners southpaw James Paxton.

Corbin may not be the only member of the Diamondbacks’ starting rotation on the move. Clay Buchholz is also a free agent and reports have come out that the club is shopping Zack Greinke in the trade market as well. The Diamondbacks also lost catcher Jeff Mathis to the Texas Rangers, and A.J. Pollock is one of the most sought-after outfielders in this year’s market. Pollock and Corbin rejected qualifying offers from the Diamondbacks on November 12th for one year and $17.9 million.
