Arizona State’s offensive coordinators have been hot commodities since Todd Graham took over in Tempe.
Mike Norvell was consistently linked to be the “next” head coach of (insert team name here) before finally taking the Memphis job last year, and taking multiple assistants with him.
Chip Lindsey came in and the Sun Devils posted an offense that put up #40 points scored in the nation. This offseason, he joined Auburn as the team’s offensive coordinator.
There were plenty of questions of who the next offensive coordinator would be for the Sun Devils, and, according to multiple reports, Alabama wide receiver coach Billy Napier seems to be that man. AL.com first reported this development.
Napier held that position since 2013 and was previously Clemson’s offensive coordinator from 2009-10. Napier coached for Colorado State and then Alabama.
Napier has served under some of the best coaches in the nation including Dabo Sweeney, Jim McElwain and Nick Saban.
He was considered one of Alabama’s strongest recruiters and was Clemson’s recruiting coordinator when he was with the Tigers.
Obviously Alabama recruits itself but there are those who believe Napier was among the staff’s best recruiters.

While with Alabama, Napier worked directly with Amari Cooper and Calvin Ridley. He will have playmakers like N’Keal Harry and Jalen Harvey on the outside at his disposal next year.
