REPORTS: Suns Sign Veteran Forward Trevor Ariza

According to reports, the Phoenix Suns wasted little time making a move once free agency opened at midnight eastern Sunday morning in signing former Houston Rockets forward Trevor Ariza.

The 33-year-old averaged 11.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game with the Rockets. He shot 36.8% on three-pointers last year, giving the Suns a viable option to shoot and defend.

Phoenix does now have depth at the wing after drafting T.J. Warren, Josh Jackson and Mikal Bridges in recent years and now signing the veteran Ariza. Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said they would make the point guard and power forward a position this offseason after completing the draft. Could the Suns make additional moves through trades?

McDonough said the Suns will have $15-20 million of salary cap space for free agency, and a good chunk of that will be dedicated Ariza.
