ASU Commit Ricky Pearsall Jr. Brings “Nasty” to the Field

Corona del Sol wide receiver Ricky Pearsall Jr. went on to a record-setting junior season. Against Gilbert last season, Pearsall brought in 14 catches for 342 yards. In total, the junior had 74 catches for 1,153 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns.

ASU fans are hoping he can do the same thing with the Sun Devils.

“I’m kind of a nasty player I would said,” Pearsall Jr. said. “I have that kind of determination when I’m on the field that I’ll win every single time, so I think that separates me from everybody else.”

Where does he get this nastiness? Apparently the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

“Basiccally, I got it from my father (former NAU wide receiver Rick Pearsall). It’s just something when you come on the field, you have to have a lot of confidence like that.”

Pearsall’s head coach, Jon Becktold, said the receiver has gained about 20 pounds of muscle from when he ended his junior season.

The wide receiver also had a strong showing at The Opening regionals, and he has brought that confidence back with him.

“It definitely boosts it of course,” he said. “Coming from there and then out here, it’s so much different, so it’s coming out here, it gives me more confidence against other people.”

Ricky Pearsall Jr. Recruiting

The three-star receiver saw his recruitment pick up. He chose Arizona State over NAU, Air Force, UC Davis, South Dakota State, Idaho, New Mexico State and Hawaii.

This is Arizona State’s fifth commitment and second in-state commit. Basha offensive tackle Roman DeWys is also a 2019 commitment to the Sun Devils.
