The second-seeded Williams Field Black Hawks do all three phases of the game very, very well. They have a well-rounded offense that takes care of the football, a defense that gives up 11 points per game and a special teams unit that is led by Alabama commit and kicker Brandon Ruiz. All three facets were on display in the Black Hawks’ 37-14 opening round win against 15th seed Chaparral. Ruiz hit three field goals, two of them being over 50 yards, and Tre Bugg made his presence felt in the secondary. The Black Hawks certainly look the part of a 5A state title contender and host seventh-seeded Marana in the second round.
