Saguaro’s Tristan Monday Recaps Recent Recruiting Push

Arizona Sports News online

The Saguaro defensive line was one of the most talented position groups in the state.

There was Damian Sellers, who is now signed with UCLA, in the class of 2020. Juniors Quintin Somerville (Michigan), Darrion Dalton (San Diego State) and Alani Ma’afu (NAU) took their collective step from promising underclassmen to top prospects in the region.

But it was sophomore Tristan Monday who led the team in sacks.

In total, Monday tallied 58 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. He uses that stat-line as motivation for him now that he’s an upperclassman, and doesn’t let his fellow returners forget that fact.

It’s been busy for Monday since September 1, the date that colleges can begin initiating contact with class of 2022 players. The defensive lineman currently holds offers from Iowa State, New Mexico, Florida State, Baylor, Arizona, Colorado and Idaho and has heard from other top programs.

Monday recaps his busy couple of weeks and his expectations for this season in the video above.
