Walked into Wells Fargo Arena this morning and the person I was with broke down and cried.
I didn’t quite know what to think. I’ve shed tears many times walking into the same venue knowing what I was about to go watch.
But on this day I wasn’t there to see a basketball superstar like Jahii Carson, I was there to watch one big man who happens to be my oldest son.
Kyle Cesmat became part of the graduating class of 2013 at Arizona State and his mom was the one shedding tears before we even found our seats.
It’s quite a feeling watching your first child in a cap and gown moving his tassel from one side to the other.
I’ve covered James Harden, Eddie House, Carson, Ike Diogu and others inside that building. Nothing compares to the man I saw today in maroon and gold.
