The death of Tyler Skaggs took me back to a 2011 conversation with the late Kevin Towers. KT was the GM of the Diamondbacks at the time. Our chat was about the young arms within the franchise including Skaggs. Trevor Bauer was selected with the third pick in the 2011 draft. Archie Bradley was taken four picks later. Arizona landed Skaggs(Patrick Corbin too) in a major trade with the Angels. KT was very happy the young arms, including Skaggs, that were being stockpiled. Skaggs would eventually be brought up to the Diamondbacks in 2012. Stunning news today on his passing.
We came up together. We won together. We laughed and celebrated together. Today, we all lose and mourn together. Your memory, your love for life, everything that made you, you, will live forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew you. Rest In Peace brother. We love you. pic.twitter.com/n30eXspS4N
