Strong Showing for Barcello in The Gauntlet

Corona Del Sol guard Alex Barcello has put on quite a display in the first two rounds of the Adidas Gauntlet 17U division games in Dallas and Indianapolis.

Playing as the only sophomore on Team Bayless, Barcello is leading his team in scoring, rebounds and assists. The 24ppg. average ranks third overall in the Gauntlet series. To date, Barcello has eight college offers, including Arizona, Virginia, Memphis, Grand Canyon Univ.(Dan Majerle goes way back with the family) and Colorado.

According to Edward Barcello, the father of Alex, Arizona head coach Sean Miller and assistant Joe Pasternack watched all of Barcellos games this weekend in Indianapolis, while Arizona State assistant coach Stan Johnson checked in on Barcello for one of his matchups. Sun Devil head coach Bobby Hurley saw Barcello play twice in round one of the Gauntlet in Texas the day after he was hired.  

Media personality Brad Cesmat first rose to fame in Southern California with the launching of "The Mighty 690" all-sports radio station in the late 1980's and early 90's.
