Sun Devil Football Schedule Released

Arizona Sports News online

Mark your calendars for Sept. 2 for the first Sun Devil Football game of the season at home against Southern Utah.

The Pac-12 announced the 2021 football schedule during a three-hour special. The Arizona State football team sports some competitive non-conference games that could present an early challenge for the Sun Devils. The first big game that stands out on Sept. 18 away at BYU.

Last season BYU went nearly undefeated with an 11-1 record and they’ve had a winning record the last three years.

ASU opens conference play with a South Division contest at home against Colorado.

In addition to a tough road match against the BYU Cougars, the Sun Devils will also be on the road to face Utah and Washington. While Utah had a winning season in 2020, on paper 3-2 doesn’t look too appealing. However, just getting to play football in 2020 was tough to come by. If Utah can be nearly as good as they were in 2019, they’ll give the Sun Devils a tough battle.

As always, the Territorial Cup will take place over Thanksgiving weekend. This year Arizona State will host Arizona in Tempe. While this rivalry matchup always sparks a lot of interest the result has been a Sun Devil win for the last four years.
