The 2017 recruiting class for Arizona State added a marquee talent to the list. Daniel Mading, one of the top 100 players in the nation, gave the Sun Devils a verbal commitment Tuesday night.
This bit of news is significant for several reasons. Mading is one of those rare players that can help recruit an entire class around him. According to recruiting analysts, Mading is listed at 6″8 200 lbs. His high school coach is Bobby Hurley Sr. at St. Anthonys,New Jersey. Opening the recruiting pipeline to Tempe from St. Anthonys is a HUGE advantage for Arizona State. Ohio State, LSU, Maryland, South Carolina and several others were on the recruiting list for Mading. In a related note, Chris Karpman at ASUDevils.com had this recruiting nugget.
It’s important to note that Daniel Mading is the cousin of five-star prospect Thon Maker, whom ASU is a finalist for. — SunDevilSource.com (@SunDevilSource) December 30, 2015
