After a Memphis win and a 117-100 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night, the Phoenix Suns secured the worst record in the NBA for the 2017-18 season.
At 20-61, the team now has the best odds to be given the top pick in the 2018 NBA draft. They hold a 25% chance to land the first pick and and a 64% chance of landing a top-three pick. The team has never had the top pick in the draft.
The Suns have one remaining game, at Dallas on Tuesday.
Since the lottery’s inception in 1985, the team with the worst record has received the top pick seven times, including the last three years. Suns fans will be hoping to party like it’s 1988, 1990, 2003, 2004, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The NBA draft lottery will be held on May 15th and the NBA draft will be held on June 21st.
