Top Valley High School Athletes Focus on Post-Workout Protein

Shamrock Farms’ Team Rockin’ Refuel delivers protein benefits to nearly 50 athletic programs

PHOENIX (Aug. 29, 2016)—As the competition among valley high schools grows this fall season, coaches and athletes alike are focusing on how they take care of their bodies on and off the field. Approximately 50 high school athletic programs are joining Team Rockin’ Refuel to capitalize on the proven nutritional benefits of Rockin’ Refuel for improved post-workout recovery.

Made with real milk, Rockin’ Refuel is ideal for maximum muscle recovery and is an excellent source of protein – great for young competitors to refuel and replenish their muscles so they are ready to hit the field the next day after an intense practice or game. Rockin’ Refuel is trusted by more than 260 athletic programs, ranging from high schools to Division I universities, as well as many professional athletes like two-time all-pro wide receiver A.J. Green.

“A core part of our brand’s mission is refueling young athletes with the best-tasting and most nutritious protein beverage. The Team Rockin’ Refuel program does just that and has grown tremendously through the years due to high demand from local coaches, athletic directors and athletes” said Blake Atkinson, director of brand management for Shamrock Farms Rockin’ Refuel. “While Rockin’ Refuel is available nationwide, we want to be sure we’re supporting our local communities and hometown high schools.”

Members of Team Rockin’ Refuel enjoy a season-supply of Rockin’ Refuel protein milk beverage. Specifically, each school receives a product donation of Muscle Recovery made with real milk and packed with 20 grams of high quality protein, supplying the necessary 2:1 carb-to-protein ratio to help repair and replenish muscles.

To earn their spot on Team Rockin’ Refuel, each high school completed an application process demonstrating their excellence in sport, knowledge of nutrition’s role and Rockin’ Refuel’s benefits in sports recovery, commitment to their program and the team’s need.

Additionally, with support from Arizona Milk Producers, Team Rockin’ Refuel athletes will learn about smart post-workout nutrition via onsite education through Rockin’ Refuel van stops at games and school programs, emphasizing the importance of post-workout recovery.

“Team Rockin’ Refuel is an amazing awareness driver for the scientifically proven natural recovery benefits of chocolate milk. There’s nothing more wholesome for your youth athlete, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this effort,” said Terri Verason, MS RD, director of nutrition information for Arizona Milk Producers.
