This week should-be something special in Arizona. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady taking the field against the Cardinals was the story line that true football fans want to see. Jimmy Garoppolo, meh. By the way, if the Cardinals don’t beat the backup quarterback next Sunday night, the bandwagon jumpers will be out along the 101 in full force…
Former Sun Devil running back D.J. Foster has made the New England Patriots 53 man roster. The undrafted free agent played his way onto the Patriot roster by showing his versatility and ability to pass block. Should be quite a scene for Foster next Sunday night…
Vikings trading for Sam Bradford was panned by many, but I thought it was a bold move for a franchise that is seeing their window to win with Adrian Peterson coming to a close. Hanging onto draft picks will get you fired. Sure, it’s a steep price, but Minnesota is in a “go for it” mode right now…

You have to give the conference credit for agreeing to play marquee games on the opening weekend of the season, but you have to win…

Casteel is in their first season of varsity football and has a 3-0 record. Cruz will gain more attention over the next couple of seasons as the Colts play tougher competition…
It’s great that we have a professional soccer franchise in the Valley, but the new ownership group of Arizona United SC(will the name change?) has to find a stadium solution for longterm success. Outgoing owner Kyle Eng did as good a job as possible given the lack of a home field. It’s stunning to me that a centrally located Cactus League ballpark can’t become a viable option for United. Municipalities need to work together to get the 5th major-league pro sports franchise in the Valley…
