In a defense that was pretty bad last year in Tucson, Ariz., cornerback Trevin Wade stood tall for the Wildcats.
Wade bounced back from an extremely sub-par junior season, to have a strong senior campaign.
Wade is hoping to use this week’s NFL Scouting Combine as a springboard off that senior season, and straight to success in the league.
Wade had 12 career interceptions as a member of the Wildcats, so there’s no question that he knows his way around a football field.
The scouts will no doubt focus on his good and his bad – meaning his junior season, in which Wade himself admitted he lost his focus and his confidence for whatever reason. They’re looking to see if he has the mental grit to handle life in the NFL.
If he can show off the “good” to the scouts this week, then he’ll be a great addition to any team’s secondary.
Wade will most likely end up as a sixth or seventh-round pick.
