Former Phoenix College Star Troy Conley Making Plays at Benedictine

By Liam Morales

Senior for Benedictine University at Mesa (BenU Mesa), Troy Conley, is heading into playoffs with jaw dropping numbers as he climbs the ladder to one of colleges greatest three-point shooters.

Conley played his prep basketball at Chaparral, and then at Phoenix College, helping win a NJCAA Division II National Title in 2013-14, his freshman year. Conley then led the team to a third-place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament his sophomore year.

Conley was the NJCAA Division II leader in three-pointers made (111) while he also holds NJCAA Tournament record for three-pointers made (24) and was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team.

His junior year, Conley decided to transfer to BenU at Mesa.

According to BenU Mesa, Conley has knocked down a total of 293 college three-pointers. He credits his stroke to constant practice and many shots throughout the week to give him the confidence he needs during a game.

“I have always been a shooter throughout high school and college,” Conley told Sports360AZ, “So I have tried to master my craft.”

Conley believes that consistency comes from staying confident in your shot. “Short term memory loss,” meaning being able to forget missed shots and not getting too high on made ones, is how Conley keeps from getting into slumps.

With 293 college threes and still some games to go; he is one lethal shooter.
