From a two-star recruit, to an NFL draft pick, Scooby Wright has been one of the best stories in college football.
He caps that off after being selected by the Browns in the seventh round in with the 250th pick.
The 2014 Pat Tillman Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year racked up 163 tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 14 sacks. The 6-foot-1 and 246-pound linebacker only played in three games in 2015 due to multiple injuries.
He capped his season off at the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, where he was the defensive MVP with 15 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
Wright gave an underwhelming performance at the NFL combine, Wright showed improved measurables at Arizona’s pro day. Leading up to the draft, he told Sports360AZ “I’m not an underwear Olympian, I’m a football player.”
The Browns certainly didn’t draft him to be an Olympian.
