The future looks as bright as ever for Valley Christian high school football.

The Trojans are coming off of a 5-5 season in year one under new head head coach and former NFL quarterback, college and NFL coach Jeff Rutledge who looks to aid the program into new success. But the school announced at their banquet on Sunday night that there is more that have their students and community earner for the direction of their program.

The School is in the early stages of an athletics booster club stadium project to create a state-of-the-art field house and athletic performance complex around the school’s football field. The tentative plan would create a field house at the site of the football field which includes a 5,300 square foot sports performance room, team theater, new press box, locker room, training room and other amenities and features for student-athletes and the community.

“This will be an outstanding facility for our student-athletes to train, prepare and compete at,” Rutledge said. “As a school and a football program we are committed to excellence in everything we do, this will help us prepare our students physically for excellence and have a lot of positive effect on our school and our community.”

“We were very excited about the potential to positively impact our school, student and community when the booster club approached us with this concept and plan,” added VCHS Athletic Director Greg Haagsma. “Obviously we are in the initial stages of the project and there are a lot of details that still need to be finalized, but we are very excited about the concept and its impact and are grateful for the booster club’s continued investment in our student-athletes.”

Valley Christian has made a conscious effort in the last year to upgrade their facilities in all sports. Before the start of the school year, they resurfaced their basketball court and there is also plans as part of the football upgrades, to build a new facility for softball as well.
