Wedding Bells…

Arizona Sports News online

The newborn was taken immediately out of the delivery room. Something wasn’t right. Nurses were working on him with a suction device. They were pulling stuff out of his nose and mouth and I was holding onto his little hand. The doctor had just taken him out of his mother and I was ushered into another room with him leaving mom behind.

Later I found out the stuff they pulled out of him was meconium(babies first poop)…Since then Kyle has been known as our little S%#T head…

Kyle is getting married on Saturday. It’s the first wedding in our family. I’ve been a bit distracted on the air the last couple of weeks as the day has drawn closer. There is no handbook for going through moments like this on our journey through life. I’ve found myself tearing up and laughing at the little things thinking through the last twenty five years…

Because he was our first born, I guess you could say he was our “test baby”. Once at Disneyworld, I thought he’d get a thrill by sitting in the front seat of Space Mountain. Never mind, he was just four years old. To make matters worse, I sat in the row behind him…Yep, dad screwed that one up. Kyle didn’t get over his fear of rollercoasters till high school…

Another time, I got him a couple of tickets for the Diamondbacks.  He really liked the girl that he was taking to the game. Without telling Kyle,  I asked the guys that operated the JumboTron to do me a favor and put the two on the “kiss cam”. They did, and he followed through with the act. Kyle is marrying that same girl on Saturday…

Our father-son relationship has turned into a close friendship. He’s done very well for himself in the world of digital culture after graduating from Arizona State. He inspired me to dig deeper into the digital world which led to Sports360az.com…

I love him and Taylor more than words can say. He is no longer our little “bleep” head…
