The Arizona Wildcats and BYU Cougars announced a three-game series last month that will be played in 2016, 2018 and 2020. The 2016 game will be played in Glendale at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
However, there is a chance the Wildcats could play in Glendale much sooner than that. They are currently scheduled to play a road game against UNLV but according to reports, former Arizona athletic director and current UNLV athletic director Jim Livengood confirmed that the game could be moved from Sam Boyd Stadium near Las Vegas to University of Phoenix Stadium.
The move would land the Rebels a significant amount of money and the deal could be set in stone in the next few days as Livengood is in Phoenix for the Mountain West conference annual meetings and it just so happens that Greg Byrne is in Phoenix as well for their Arizona road tour.
The Wildcats currently are scheduled to have their home and season opener in Tucson against NAU on August 30th. This move would mean the Wildcats would not play a game outside the state of Arizona until week four at Washington on September 28th.
