Wildcats Land Commitment from Top-20 National Recruit for 2016

A lot was made of 2016 five-star prospect T.J. Leaf de-committing from the Arizona Wildcats and then soon later announcing his commitment to rival UCLA.

On Saturday evening on ESPN, the class of 2016 for Arizona bounced back in a hurry as Kobi Simmons, a five-star guard from Alpharette, Georgia and St. Francis School announced his commitment to Arizona over Ohio State and Kentucky.

Simmons is a 6-5 point guard who is long with incredible athleticism. He has shown the ability to play above the rim with impressive dunks but also from beyond the arc with a solid outside jump shot with a quick release. Scout.com considers him the 19th ranked player for the 2016 class in the country.

This is now the second player Arizona has landed for the 2016 class as they received a signed letter of intent from 6-11, 220 pound Lauri Markkanen. The Wildcats are also in the mix for the number one overall prospect in the country, according to Scout.com, for 2016 in Josh Jackson from Napa, California.
