The Arizona Wildcats have done a good job landing some of the best Phoenix-area players since Rich Rodriguez took over but haven’t yet landed any of the top. Saturday that all changed as they landed the number two prospect in the 2015 class in Chaparral Offensive Tackle, Keenan Walker.
Walker stands 6-5 and 270 pounds and is considered a four-star prospect by Scout.com. The Wildcats landed the four-star Tucson prospect in Cameron Denson for the 2014 class but this definitely the highest touted player from the valley Rich Rod has been able to bring to Tucson.
It is not news that the Arizona football program and athletics in general are doing their best to crack the Phoenix market. It has been seen with billboards, getting on a radio station in the valley to broadcast their games, etc. Now all they needed was the first major chip to fall in their direction from a recruiting stand point and this could be the piece that springboards many of the top talent to stay in-state going forward.
Walker becomes the first Arizona player to give a commitment to the Wildcats for the 2015 class.
