Centennial RB Zidane Thomas Commits to Boise State

Centennial running back Zidane Thomas burst onto the scene last year for the Centennial Coyotes. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back rushed for 1,888 yards, averaging over 11 yards per carry, and 18 touchdowns. Thomas was the leader of a Centennial rushing attack that ran for over 3,000 yards and 44 touchdowns that made it to the 5A state championship game.

The Centennial running back will go from a Coyote to a Bronco after committing to Boise State on Tuesday.

Boise State recruits Arizona extremely well dating back to the Chris Petersen days and has continued with current head coach Bryan Harsin. The 2017 Boise State roster features former Saguaro receiver Julian Carter, Sunrise Mountain quarterback Chase Cord, Scottsdale CC wide receiver Austin Cottrell, Corona del Sol offensive tackle Austin Dixon and Yuma Catholic tight end Matt Pistone and Chaparral tight end Jake Roh.

Time and again, the Broncos have come into the state and plucked highly productive and often under-recruited players from Arizona, and Zidane Thomas is the next Bronco commitment slated to make an impact over the next few years. The Coyotes are coming off a season where they ran the ball 70% of the time and Thomas will be in another system that values the run. Boise State ran the ball 55% of the time in 2016.
